Making things look real

I have been working on a piece related to the BP oil spill a while back, and i been have a lot of trouble trying to make it look real. But i just started it so ill see how it goes. I watch a few video's on illustration. Saw some great stuff people painting in Photoshop. After watching some video I kind of know a little more about making illustration look more realistic. I hope I can add some of these Techneacs to my work.On another subject, I need quite a few piece for my portfolio. I think I'm going to dig up some old stuff from other art classes for my breathe, and as for my concentration. I guess just buckle down and work on it a lot.

I'm doing well

I have learned that art that most art need a strong concept, I learned a lot more about photo shop, and also learned that Art takes a lot of effort.
The area I need to improve are drawing subjects and making them realistic looking, and still better concepts. i need to work on the values and shadows for making my work better and more real.
In three years I hope to be in college, Not exactly sure what I plan to do yet but I hope I know by then. I well still most likley being making art all the time.
I have learned a lot about art, about blending and things of that nature. I also learned that you need to work on your art a lot and you can't procrastinate, or you don't get anything done

Progress

I guess I will start this blog with how my work is going. As far as my shark piece I'm finished with it but if i have time i will make some changes to it. I also downloaded a few brushes, they have been VERY helpful as of so far. I have started sketching out my next concentration. i working on some idea for the breathe piece right now. I'm trying to work in brick some how to on of them. Or I might use something else from nature I not sure yet. But I'm defiantly trying to draw my concentration pieces more real and cleaner. I think I'm starting to learn to at color better and more efficiently, and I'm starting to notice proportions more.
I got my hand on Apologies are for the weak by Miss May I, the cover art was done by one of my favorite artists. Dan Mumford, I also I'm happy that my piece got an honorable mention at the show.

Recent art, and other art related subjects

I'm going to start this free blog out with that I'm starting to get behind in my work which isn't good, but I'm planning to catch back up. I'm finishing up the shark piece right now and I just need to turn in my still life. I keep forgetting too turn it in. anyway I'm having a little bit of trouble filling in all the white spaces on the shark piece its becoming really tidiest. although its going a little faster using the dodge and burn tool instead of selecting a darker or lighter color and I'm not sure if I'm going to add teeth or not yet. I think I'm progressing as an artist bit by bit. I still need to work on the coming up with concepts thing. But I think it coming along well I usually me something to spark an idea. I also decided to add these lyrics from on of the best the devil wears prada songs in my opinion. So thats what I need to work on in art for now.
Reptar, King of ozone, by the devil wears prada

Bring it to your lips and experience
The sulfur infect everything that we've created.
Don't twist this around.
Don't attempt to justify what we know is wrong.
Tendons are torn and screams are released
Into a poisoned, mathematic atmosphere.
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/the_devil_wears_prada/reptar_king_of_the_ozone.html ]
We're composing our funeral songs, note, (note) note by note. (by note)
We're composing our funeral songs, note, (note) note by note. (by note)

With this I declare that tomorrow is an allusion.

What if the clouds are fragments of mistakes,
Fabricated by the factors of our foolishness?

We're composing our funeral songs, note (note) note by note. (by note)
We're composing our funeral songs, note (note) note by note.

PROVE ME WRONG!

Art moms?

I how I feel about art shows  I kind of feel like there is always someone who can out do you I guess so I guess I fell but your best work forward and just hope it goes well. the piece i would put in? Hmmmm, I would most likely enter my shark piece which is still in progress, because I really like how it looks so far probably my best piece so far. Then i would enter my AL Gore piece, because I think its concept is strong, but I think I would do some work to it make some touch us and stuff. i would also put in my piece with the plants which I still need a title for. and i might put in my first concentration I did because I like the piece over all, but I would add I lot of values to it so it would appear more realistic. I feel that my art would do to great in a show but no awful. i really like the way Cameron art looks and the style of art he makes. Well that is how I feel about art shows.

mucis, and concepts

I not really sure what to write about this week, I kinda want to write about music. So I guess I'll write about that. I listen to alot of metalcore. I feel that alot of people don't give heavier music a chance just because they can't understand the lyrics. of just because its do loud. anyway on to more art related subjects. I have been having trouble coming up with idea for projects and concepts alot. I'm not really sure what to do about this, I think i might just spend more time working on random sketch's to have more idea's. I not sure what I'm going to do to come up with more concepts, I also what to learn to add more colors and shapes to my illustrated pieces. Using other shades of color to make shadows and values.and i also part a video on the page about the music part of the blog.

Illustrations

This week I decided to blog about some Illustrations I have seen. (like the one's below) Anyway I really like this type of art. I always use alot of bright colors. I think it cool how they have alot of values just using all kinds of lines and different colored lines too. I also like the funny things they depict like animals, characters from movies, undead creature, and even things that don't exist, and all kinds of things. there also on alot of album covers. Plus ideas for this kind of art are almost limitless.  I try to make my art similar to this style of art. I like that some of these pieces are gorey but not all of them, are just scenic images and stuff like that. it kind of reminds me of a graphic novel.
